Its features\nmake it an ideal backend for high load sites serving dynamic content, such as\nonline newspapers or database driven e-commerce sites.\n\nMason's various pieces revolve around the notion of \"components\". A component is\na mix of HTML, Perl, and special Mason commands, one component per file.\nSo-called \"top-level\" components represent entire web-pages, while smaller\ncomponents typically return HTML snippets for embedding in top-level components.\nThis object-like architecture greatly simplifies site maintenance: change a\nshared component, and you instantly changed all dependant pages that refer to it\nacross a site (or across many virtual sites).\n\nMason's component syntax lets designers separate a web page into programmatic\nand design elements. This means the esoteric Perl bits can be hidden near the\nbottom of a component, preloading simple variables for use above in the HTML. In\nour own experience, this frees content managers (i.e., non-programmers) to work\non the layout without getting mired in programming details. Techies, however,\nstill enjoy the full power of Perl.\n\nSee also: http://www.masonhq.com/","flavors":[],"html":"https://daemonports.org/midnightbsd/www/p5-HTML-Mason/","kind":"port","lastUpdate":null,"license":["artistic","gpl+"],"maintainer":"ports@MidnightBSD.org","name":"p5-HTML-Mason","newest":true,"newestVersion":"1.60","noVulnData":true,"origin":"www/p5-HTML-Mason","otherSystems":[{"maintainer":"perl@FreeBSD.org","newest":true,"origin":"www/p5-HTML-Mason","path":"/www/p5-HTML-Mason/","system":"FreeBSD","version":"1.60"},{"maintainer":"Alexander Bluhm \u003cbluhm@openbsd.org\u003e","newest":true,"noVulnData":true,"origin":"www/p5-HTML-Mason","path":"/openbsd/www/p5-HTML-Mason/","system":"OpenBSD","version":"1.60"},{"maintainer":"pkgsrc-users@NetBSD.org","newest":true,"origin":"www/p5-HTML-Mason","path":"/netbsd/www/p5-HTML-Mason/","system":"NetBSD","updated":"2026-07-16","version":"1.60nb4"},{"maintainer":"perl@FreeBSD.org","newest":true,"origin":"www/p5-HTML-Mason","path":"/dragonfly/www/p5-HTML-Mason/","system":"DragonFly","version":"1.60"},{"maintainer":"perl@FreeBSD.org","newest":true,"noVulnData":true,"origin":"www/p5-HTML-Mason","path":"","system":"HardenedBSD","version":"1.60"},{"maintainer":"perl@FreeBSD.org","newest":true,"noVulnData":true,"origin":"www/p5-HTML-Mason","path":"","system":"GhostBSD","version":"1.60"}],"packages":null,"pkgName":"p5-HTML-Mason-1.60","related":null,"repository":"mports","requiredBy":[],"requiredByCount":0,"runDepends":["devel/p5-Cache-Cache","devel/p5-Class-Container","devel/p5-Exception-Class","devel/p5-Log-Any","devel/p5-Params-Validate","www/p5-HTML-Parser"],"status":null,"system":"midnightbsd","systemLabel":"MidnightBSD","version":"1.60","versions":null,"vulnerabilities":null,"www":"https://metacpan.org/release/HTML-Mason"}
