In addition, there is provision for other characters and symbols useful\nto linguists. This font makes use of state-of-the-art font technologies to\nsupport complex typographic issues, such as the need to position arbitrary\ncombinations of base glyphs and diacritics optimally.\n\nCharis is similar to Bitstream Charter, one of the first fonts designed\nspecifically for laser printers. It is highly readable and holds up well in\nless-than-ideal reproduction environments. It also has a full set of styles\n- regular, italic, bold, bold italic - and so is more useful in general\npublishing than Doulos SIL. Charis is a serif, proportionally-spaced font\noptimized for readability in long printed documents.\n\nSee also: https://github.com/silnrsi/font-charis/","flavors":[],"html":"https://daemonports.org/midnightbsd/x11-fonts/charis/","kind":"port","lastUpdate":null,"license":["OFL11"],"maintainer":"ports@MidnightBSD.org","name":"CharisSIL","newest":false,"newestVersion":"7.000","noVulnData":true,"origin":"x11-fonts/charis","otherSystems":[{"maintainer":"thierry@FreeBSD.org","newest":true,"origin":"x11-fonts/charis","path":"/x11-fonts/charis/","system":"FreeBSD","version":"7.000"},{"maintainer":"thierry@FreeBSD.org","origin":"x11-fonts/charis","path":"/dragonfly/x11-fonts/charis/","system":"DragonFly","version":"6.200"},{"maintainer":"thierry@FreeBSD.org","newest":true,"noVulnData":true,"origin":"x11-fonts/charis","path":"","system":"HardenedBSD","version":"7.000"},{"maintainer":"thierry@FreeBSD.org","newest":true,"noVulnData":true,"origin":"x11-fonts/charis","path":"","system":"GhostBSD","version":"7.000"}],"packages":null,"pkgName":"CharisSIL-6.200","related":null,"repository":"mports","requiredBy":[],"requiredByCount":0,"runDepends":[],"status":null,"system":"midnightbsd","systemLabel":"MidnightBSD","version":"6.200","versions":null,"vulnerabilities":null,"www":"https://software.sil.org/charis/"}
