It works by opening a shell in a pty and\nintercepting all user input/output, maintaining a window of what\nshould be on the screen by looking at the codes and text sent to the\nscreen. It thus uses no Linuxisms such as /dev/vcsa0 and does not\nnecessarily need to be setuid root (the only requirement being that\nthe user be able to access the tts device).","flavors":[],"html":"https://daemonports.org/netbsd/audio/yasr/","kind":"port","lastUpdate":"2026-09-29T06:03:37Z","license":["gnu-gpl-v2"],"maintainer":"pkgsrc-users@NetBSD.org","name":"yasr","newest":false,"newestVersion":"0.6.9","noVulnData":false,"origin":"audio/yasr","otherSystems":[{"maintainer":"David.K.Gerry@GMail.com","matchedBy":"name","newest":true,"origin":"accessibility/yasr","path":"/accessibility/yasr/","system":"FreeBSD","version":"0.6.9_6"},{"maintainer":"David.K.Gerry@GMail.com","matchedBy":"name","newest":true,"origin":"accessibility/yasr","path":"/dragonfly/accessibility/yasr/","system":"DragonFly","version":"0.6.9_6"},{"maintainer":"ports@MidnightBSD.org","matchedBy":"name","newest":true,"noVulnData":true,"origin":"accessibility/yasr","path":"/midnightbsd/accessibility/yasr/","system":"MidnightBSD","version":"0.6.9"},{"maintainer":"David.K.Gerry@GMail.com","matchedBy":"name","newest":true,"noVulnData":true,"origin":"accessibility/yasr","path":"","system":"HardenedBSD","version":"0.6.9_6"},{"maintainer":"David.K.Gerry@GMail.com","matchedBy":"name","newest":true,"noVulnData":true,"origin":"accessibility/yasr","path":"","system":"GhostBSD","version":"0.6.9_6"}],"packages":[{"repo":"NetBSD 10.1 x86_64","versions":["0.0.0.144nb2"]},{"repo":"NetBSD 10.1 aarch64","versions":["0.0.0.144nb1"]},{"repo":"SmartOS / illumos x86_64","versions":["-"]},{"repo":"macOS 15 arm64","versions":["-"]}],"pkgName":"yasr-0.0.0.144nb2","related":null,"repository":"pkgsrc","requiredBy":[],"requiredByCount":0,"runDepends":["audio/speech-dispatcher"],"status":null,"system":"netbsd","systemLabel":"NetBSD","version":"0.0.0.144nb2","versions":null,"vulnerabilities":null,"www":"https://github.com/mgorse/yasr"}
