The API\nadditionally provides the means to manipulate the preserved (callee-saved)\nstate of each call-frame and to resume execution at any point in the call-chain\n(non-local goto). The API supports both local (same-process) and remote\n(across-process) operation. As such, the API is useful in a number of\napplications.\n\nSome examples include:\n- exception handling\n    The libunwind API makes it trivial to implement the stack-manipulation\n    aspects of exception handling.\n- debuggers\n    The libunwind API makes it trivial for debuggers to generate the call-chain\n    (backtrace) of the threads in a running program.\n- introspection\n    It is often useful for a running thread to determine its call-chain. For\n    example, this is useful to display error messages (to show how the error\n    came about) and for performance monitoring/analysis.\n- efficient setjmp()\n    With libunwind, it is possible to implement an extremely efficient version\n    of setjmp(). Effectively, the only context that needs to be saved consists\n    of the stack-pointer(s).","flavors":[],"html":"https://daemonports.org/netbsd/wip/nongnu-libunwind-git/","kind":"port","lastUpdate":null,"license":["mit"],"maintainer":"pkgsrc-users@NetBSD.org","name":"nongnu-libunwind","newest":false,"newestVersion":null,"noVulnData":false,"origin":"wip/nongnu-libunwind-git","otherSystems":[],"packages":null,"pkgName":"nongnu-libunwind-1.1.0","related":["wip/hplibunwind-git"],"repository":"pkgsrc-wip","requiredBy":[],"requiredByCount":0,"runDepends":[],"status":null,"system":"netbsd","systemLabel":"NetBSD","version":"1.1.0","versions":null,"vulnerabilities":null,"www":"http://www.nongnu.org/libunwind/"}
