It builds both a process and threads based\ntest in order to see any differences between the two.\n\nWe rely on hwloc for a platform independent way of laying out tasks on cores.\nIt can be found at www.open-mpi.org/projects/hwloc/.\n\nCare is taken to try and reduce run to run variability. By using hwloc we ensure\neach task is on its own core and won't get bounced around by the scheduler. The\nwrapper script (runtest.py) turns off address space randomisation which can\ncause huge differences in pagetable related benchmarks (one run may fit within\none pte page, the next may span two). There is a warmup period before which an\naverage is taken. The averaging period can be changed with the -s option, which\nby default is 5 seconds.","flavors":[],"html":"https://daemonports.org/netbsd/wip/will-it-scale-git/","kind":"port","lastUpdate":null,"license":["gnu-gpl-v2"],"maintainer":"pkgsrc-users@NetBSD.org","name":"will-it-scale","newest":false,"newestVersion":null,"noVulnData":false,"origin":"wip/will-it-scale-git","otherSystems":[],"packages":null,"pkgName":"will-it-scale-0","related":null,"repository":"pkgsrc-wip","requiredBy":[],"requiredByCount":0,"runDepends":["parallel/hwloc"],"status":null,"system":"netbsd","systemLabel":"NetBSD","version":"0","versions":null,"vulnerabilities":null,"www":"https://github.com/antonblanchard/will-it-scale/"}
