Description

Codec 2 is an open source speech codec designed for communications quality speech between 700 and 3200 bit/s. The main application is low bandwidth HF/VHF digital radio. It fills a gap in open source, free-as-in-speech voice codecs beneath 5000 bit/s and is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL).

Binary package:

pkg install codec2

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/audio/codec2/ && make install clean

audio/codec2: Update to 1.2.0

The new version of SDRAngel requires codec2 version 1.2.0, but the ports currently contain version 1.0.3_1. I contacted the maintainer, and a search of the bug list yielded no results regarding a codec2 port update. I propose updating the port; I am attaching the patches. Tested FreeBSD 15 amd64 - ran through portlint and cosmetic changes only - db PR: 297726 Reported by: [email protected]
