Privacy and cookies

Analytics

The site counts visits with Google Analytics 4 in Google's Consent Mode. Every page loads Google's tag, but with all consent denied until you choose: no cookie is set, and Google receives only cookieless signals without an identifier (that a page was viewed, from which kind of browser), which it uses to estimate traffic in aggregate.

Accepting in the cookie banner lets Analytics set its _ga cookies, which tell visits apart, and send the pages you open, your browser and an approximate location. Rejecting keeps it at the cookieless signals. No advertising features are used, whatever you choose.

Your choice is stored in your own browser (localStorage) for a year. Cookie settings in the footer opens the banner again; rejecting after accepting deletes the _ga cookies.

Searching sends the words you type to this site's own search engine. They are not stored beyond the server's ordinary access log, and they are not sent to anyone else.

Server logs

The web server keeps an access log (address, time, page, browser) for troubleshooting and abuse protection. It is rotated and not shared. The site sits behind Cloudflare, which processes requests to deliver them.
