Description
ICONV is 1) the library (libiconv.a and .so) for conversion between various charsets, 2) the command line utility (iconv) and 3) a set of charsets (tables and shared modules).
33 charsets are supported in this port: most Unicode encodings, all charsets for which locale exist in FreeBSD, few IBM-DOS ones. Other charsets are provided as standalone ports.

Install
Binary package:
pkg install iconvFrom the ports tree:
cd /usr/ports/converters/iconv/ && make install cleanTo depend on this port in another port's Makefile:
RUN_DEPENDS= iconv>0:converters/iconv
LIB_DEPENDS= libbiconv.so:converters/iconvPackages
