Description

OpenLDAP is a suite of Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (v3) servers, clients, utilities and development tools.

This package includes the following major components:

* -lldap - a LDAP client library * -llber - a lightweight BER/DER encoding/decoding library * LDAP tools - A collection of command line LDAP utilities * documentation - man pages for all components

Install

Binary package:

pkg install openldap25-client

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/databases/openldap25-client/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	openldap25-client>0:databases/openldap25-client

The OpenLDAP client package has been successfully installed.

Edit
  /usr/local/etc/openldap/ldap.conf
to change the system-wide client defaults.

34f95b5aad Xin LI databases/openldap*: move from net/
Move all OpenLDAP ports (openldap25-client, openldap25-server, openldap26-client, openldap26-server) from net/ to databases/ to be consistent with OpenLDAP 2.7 which was already in databases/. Bump PORTREVISION for all moved ports. Simplify Mk/Uses/ldap.mk now that all OpenLDAP versions live under databases/.
