Description

fastbencode is an implementation of the bencode serialization format originally used by BitTorrent.

The package includes both a pure-Python version and an optional C extension based on Cython. Both provide the same functionality, but the C extension provides significantly better performance.

Install

Binary package:

pkg install py312-fastbencode

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/devel/py-fastbencode/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

This fixes build with current cython versions. While not the current upstream release, newer versions rework the build significantly, so this is done as an intermediate step forward.
