Description

WHAT IS DNSTRACER?

dnstracer determines where a given Domain Name Server (DNS) gets its information from, and follows the chain of DNS servers back to the servers which know the data.

Its behaviour is similar to ntptrace(8), which does it for the NTP protocol.

Install

As a binary package — by origin, or by package name:

pkg install dns/dnstracer
pkg install dnstracer

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/dns/dnstracer/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	dnstracer>0:dns/dnstracer

Packages

The version each package repository carries. “-” means the repository builds no package of it, “n/a” that there is no such repository.
