Description

wal2json is an output plugin for logical decoding. It means that the plugin have access to tuples produced by INSERT and UPDATE. Also, UPDATE/DELETE old row versions can be accessed depending on the configured replica identity. Changes can be consumed using the streaming protocol (logical replication slots) or by a special SQL API.

Install

Binary package:

pkg install postgresql13-wal2json

From DPorts:

cd /usr/dports/databases/postgresql-wal2json && make install clean

Dependencies

Run dependencies 1

databases/postgresql13-server

No port depends on this one.

Configuration

No options to configure.

Service scripts: none

Message after installing

You need to set up at least two parameters in postgresql.conf:

	wal_level = logical
	#
	# these parameters only need to set in versions 9.4, 9.5 and 9.6
	# default values are ok in version 10 or later
	#
	max_replication_slots = 10
	max_wal_senders = 10

After changing these parameters, a restart is needed.
