Description

GCC, the GNU Compiler Collection, supports a number of languages. This port installs the C, C++, and Fortran front ends as gcc8, g++8, and gfortran8, respectively.

Install

Binary package:

pkg install gcc8

From DPorts:

cd /usr/dports/lang/gcc8 && make install clean

Message after installing

To ensure binaries built with this toolchain find appropriate versions
of the necessary run-time libraries, you may want to link using

  -Wl,-rpath=/usr/local/lib/gcc8

For ports leveraging USE_GCC, USES=compiler, or USES=fortran this happens
transparently.
