Description

Awk scans input files for specified patterns and can perform an associated action when a line of the file matches the pattern.

This is the One True version of awk described in "The AWK Programming Language" by Al Aho, Brian Kernighan, and Peter Weinberger (Addison-Wesley, 1988, ISBN 0-201-07981-X).

Install

As a binary package — by origin, or by package name:

pkg install lang/nawk
pkg install nawk

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/lang/nawk/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	nawk>0:lang/nawk

Packages

The version each package repository carries. “-” means the repository builds no package of it, “n/a” that there is no such repository.
