Description

Python is an interpreted object-oriented programming language, and is often compared to Tcl, Perl or Scheme. This is a meta port to the Python 2.x interpreter and provides symbolic links to bin/python2, bin/pydoc2, bin/idle2 and so on to allow compatibility with minor version agnostic python scripts. Do not depend on this port.

Install

As a binary package — by origin, or by package name:

pkg install lang/python2
pkg install python2

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/lang/python2/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	python2>0:lang/python2

Packages

The version each package repository carries. “-” means the repository builds no package of it, “n/a” that there is no such repository.
