Description

PHP email transport class featuring multiple file attachments, SMTP servers, CCs, BCCs, HTML messages, and word wrap, and more. It can send email via sendmail, PHP mail(), or with SMTP. Methods are based on the popular AspEmail active server component.

Install

Binary package:

pkg install phpmailer

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/mail/phpmailer/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	phpmailer>0:mail/phpmailer

Message after installing

You need to adjust php's include_path to contain `/usr/local/share/phpmailer'!
For example, insert
	include_path = ".:/usr/local/share/phpmailer"
into `/usr/local/etc/php.ini'.

Upstream states that PHPMailer 5.2 is no longer supported, even for security updates. The last release v5.2.28 and the final commit on the 5.2-stable branch both date from March 2020.
