Description

Firebird is a relational database offering many ANSI SQL-99 features that runs on Linux, Windows, and a variety of Unix platforms. Firebird offers excellent concurrency, high performance, and powerful language support for stored procedures and triggers. It has been used in production systems, under a variety of names since 1981.

Firebird is completely free of any registration, licensing or deployment fees. It may be deployed freely for use with any third-party software, whether commercial or not.

9d352b56b9 Lucas Holt databases/firebird40-server: build msg.fdb for the client too, update to 4.0.5
databases/firebird40-client failed in the message file step: I/O error during "open" operation for file "msg.fdb" (E) src/msgs/build_file.epp:47: Couldn't access database DB = 'msg.fdb' gen/msg.fdb is produced by the "databases" target, and gen/Makefile only makes that a prerequisite of gpre when IsServer=Y: gen/Makefile:434 ifeq ($(IsServer), Y) gpre: $(GPRE) databases else gpre: $(GPRE) but "rest" depends on message_file either way, and the client package installs the compiled .msg files. IsServer=Y was set only for the server, which is why firebird40-server built while firebird40-client did not. Move it out of the CLIENT_ONLY guard; USERS and GROUPS stay server-only. …
30db767cb1 Lucas Holt databases/firebird40-client: avoid server database generation
The client build was reaching Firebird's server database restore path and crashing while gbak restored help.fdb on Magus run 641. Gate the server-only database generation behind IsServer and build only the client tools needed by the client package. QLI depends on help.fdb, so omit it from the client package instead of restoring the server help database in client-only builds. Keep message database generation ordered before build_file.
