Description

GConf extends the concept of a configuration registry. It provides a simple way for applications and administrators to store data; often GConf is used to store preferences for applications.

Some of the features of GConf are: GConf provides:

\* Documentation for each configuration key, so that administrators
  can better modify the value.

\* Notifications to interested applications when configuration data
is changed. The notification service works across networks,
affecting all login sessions for a single user.

\* Proper locking so that configuration data doesn't get corrupted
when accessed by multiple applications at the same time.

28031c2845 Lucas Holt devel/dconf: update to 51.0 (#1475)
Update dconf from 0.49.0 to 51.0 and refresh distinfo. Validation: bmake makesum, patch, -DNO_DEPENDS build, fake, package, test target, check-license, and git diff --check. The existing NO_TEST policy is retained. The package staged tree matches pkg-plist; libdconf SONAME remains .so.1. Portlint reports only existing warnings plus generated work/.mport artifact fatals; those artifacts were not removed without explicit cleanup authorization. ## Summary by Sourcery Update the dconf port to the 51.0 release and refresh its distribution metadata. Enhancements: - Update the dconf port to version 51.0 while retaining its existing packaging configuration. Chores: - Refresh the port distinfo for the new dconf release. 8a556830f4 Lucas Holt *: fix broken PORTSCOUT limit configurations (#1257)
Audited every `PORTSCOUT` setting in the tree (526 ports) against the parser in `Portscout::API` and the limit checks in `FindNewestFile()`, and fixed the 30 that could never report an update. Each one either failed to parse or excluded the port's own current version, so portscout was silently reporting nothing for them. ### What was checked Validation mirrored portscout's real behaviour rather than the documented syntax: - Tokens must match `^([A-Za-z]+):(.*)$` after `make -V` expansion; recognised keys are `site`, `limit`, `limitw`, `skipv`, `skipb`, `ignore`. - `limit` must be a compilable Perl regex; `limitw` must match `^(\d{1,2}),(even|odd)$`. - For GitHub/GitLab ports, `FindNewestFile()` normalises the tag — …

581e47a9b4 Lucas Holt devel/dconf: update to 0.49.0 (#888)
Updates dconf to 0.49.0 from the FreeBSD ports reference. Validation: makesum, patch, build, fake, package, test, portlint -C, and git diff --check. ## Summary by Sourcery Update the dconf port to version 0.49.0 with refreshed build and packaging metadata. Enhancements: - Update the dconf port to the 0.49.0 release and its current GNOME project homepage. - Refresh packaging metadata and build configuration for the newer release, including Python test script handling and updated installed files. a05b377b53 Lucas Holt *: bump PORTREVISION for the textproc/libxml2 2.15 shared library change (#848)
`textproc/libxml2` 2.15 changed SONAME from `libxml2.so.2` to `libxml2.so.16` **and** removed ELF symbol versioning entirely — the new library defines no `LIBXML2_*` versions at all. Consumers built against the old library were never rebuilt, so they still record a dependency on `libxml2.so.2` plus version requirements nothing can satisfy, and fail at load time: ``` ld-elf.so.1: /usr/local/lib/libxml2.so.2: version LIBXML2_2.4.30 required by /usr/local/lib/libevdocument3.so.4 not defined ``` ### Scope `Tools/scripts/bump_revision.pl -f -l textproc/libxml2` — **436 Makefiles**: 323 revisions incremented, 113 gained a `PORTREVISION` line. The diff touches nothing but `PORTREVISION` lines (verified: `git diff -U0` shows no other changed line), and spot-checked ports still …
