Description

The Guidelines Support Library (GSL) contains functions and types that are suggested for use by the C++ Core Guidelines maintained by the Standard C++ Foundation. This repo contains Microsoft's implementation of GSL.

The library includes types like span<T>, string_span, owner<> and others.

The entire implementation is provided inline in the headers under the gsl directory. The implementation generally assumes a platform that implements C++14 support. There are specific workarounds to support MSVC 2015.

Updates `devel/microsoft-gsl` from 4.0.0 to 4.2.2, matching the FreeBSD port. ## Why `net-im/telegram-desktop` requires Microsoft.GSL 4.1.0 or newer: ```cmake # cmake/external/gsl/CMakeLists.txt:11 find_package(Microsoft.GSL 4.1.0 QUIET) ``` With 4.0.0 installed that `find_package` fails *quietly*, and the build falls through to the bundled-copy branch — which the port deletes — producing a confusing error that looks like a missing dependency: ``` CMake Error at cmake/external/gsl/CMakeLists.txt:20 (message): Guidelines Support Library is not found ``` `devel/microsoft-gsl` was installed the whole time; it was simply too old. ## Changes - `DISTVERSION` 4.0.0 → 4.2.2. `distinfo` matches the FreeBSD port byte for byte. …
