Description
Railties is responsible for gluing all frameworks together. Overall, it:
- handles the bootstrapping process for a Rails application;
- manages the rails command line interface;
- and provides the Rails generators core.
In the other systems
The newest version among them is 8.0.5.1, as upstream numbers it.

Version history 1
Upstream's version as each commit to the port's Makefile set it, or as this site first saw it in the system's packages; the tree's own revisions are not versions here.
Install
Binary package:
mport install railties80
From mports:
cd /usr/mports/www/rubygem-railties80 && make install clean
To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:
RUN_DEPENDS= railties80>0:www/rubygem-railties80
Dependency graph
Ports that need it on the left, what it needs to run on the right; at most 8 of each. "Dependencies" below lists them all.
Dependencies
As this port's Makefile names them.

Lucas Holt | Rails 8.0 gems: update to 8.0.5.1 (#1604) Updates the Rails 8.0 gem ports from 8.0.5 to 8.0.5.1:
- devel/rubygem-activesupport80
- databases/rubygem-activemodel80
- databases/rubygem-activerecord80 (PORTREVISION removed)
- devel/rubygem-activejob80
- devel/rubygem-actionview80
- www/rubygem-actionpack80
- www/rubygem-actioncable80
- www/rubygem-railties80
These are in one PR because the gems pin each other to exact versions.
For example, actionpack 8.0.5.1 requires `actionview = 8.0.5.1` and
`activesupport = 8.0.5.1`. `net/rubygem-activestorage80` was already at
8.0.5.1 and pins its Rails dependencies to `=${PORTVERSION}`, so until
this lands it can't be installed.
## Why
8.0.5.1 is a security release. It fixes CVE-2026-66066 /
GHSA-xr9x-r78c-5hrm (critical), an arbitrary file read and possible RCE

Lucas Holt | www/rubygem-railties80: fix fake-qa dependencies (#1506) Fixes the Magus build failure at
https://www.midnightbsd.org/magus/ports/2259357.
fake-qa reported every RubyGem dependency as unsatisfied. Magus does not
install `RUN_DEPENDS` before the fake stage, so the gemdeps check's `gem
list` could not see any of them. Adding `BUILD_DEPENDS=${RUN_DEPENDS}`
makes the gems present at fake time. This is the same fix applied to
actioncable80 in 99d064da3b, and the pattern 945 other rubygem ports
already use. Every passing rubygem port with gem dependencies in run 647
has it; the failing ones do not.
Not reproduced locally: this box runs ruby32 and the port needs ruby33.
Verified `bmake -V BUILD_DEPENDS` expansion and portlint (only the
pre-existing COMMENT length warning).

Lucas Holt | www/rubygem-railties80: fix the dependency version upper bound mport.query does not match a package when the lower bound of a range equals
the upper bound's base version and the upper bound carries a _N suffix:
"version>=1.1.1<1.1.1_99" reports not found for an installed 1.1.1, while
"version>=1.1.1<1.1.1.99" matches, including packages carrying a
PORTREVISION. Spell the bound with .99 so the dependency resolves.
