Description

Perl bindings to the 3.x series of the gtk+ toolkit. This module allows you to write graphical user interfaces in a Perlish and object-oriented way, freeing you from the casting and memory management in C, yet remaining very close in spirit to original API. Find out more about gtk+ at http://www.gtk.org.

The gtk+ reference manual is also a handy companion when writing Gtk3 programs in Perl: http://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/stable/. The Perl bindings follow the C API very closely, and the C reference documentation should be considered the canonical source.

Upstream's version as each commit to the port's Makefile set it, or as this site first saw it in the system's packages; the tree's own revisions are not versions here.

Install

Binary package:

mport install p5-Gtk3

From mports:

cd /usr/mports/x11-toolkits/p5-Gtk3 && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	p5-Gtk3>0:x11-toolkits/p5-Gtk3

4d243e62c8 Lucas Holt x11-toolkits/p5-Gtk3: update to 0.038 (#1336)
Updates the Perl Gtk3 binding to 0.038. - Reset PORTREVISION explicitly to 0 for the release bump. - Raise the Glib::Object::Introspection runtime requirement to the upstream-declared 0.043 minimum. - Correct the LGPL-2.1 license-file variable and refresh the project URL metadata. Validation: `bmake makesum`, `bmake patch`, build, fake, package, test, `bmake check-license`, `portlint -C`, and `git diff --check`. Tests passed; two display-dependent tests skipped because Gtk3 initialization had no display. Dependency note: normal dependency resolution installed missing Perl dependencies (including Cairo::GObject and Glib::Object::Introspection) on the validation host, under prior authorization to add missing dependencies. ## Summary by Sourcery …
