Description

xmonad is a tiling window manager for X. Windows are arranged automatically to tile the screen without gaps or overlap, maximising screen use. All features of the window manager are accessible from the keyboard: a mouse is strictly optional. xmonad is written and extensible in Haskell. Custom layout algorithms, and other extensions, may be written by the user in config files. Layouts are applied dynamically, and different layouts may be used on each workspace. Xinerama is fully supported, allowing windows to be tiled on several screens.

New port: xmonad 0.18.1, a tiling X11 window manager written and configured in Haskell. Based on FreeBSD's x11-wm/hs-xmonad. - distinfo identical to FreeBSD's; no boot packages vendored, no bound changes - mports adaptations: man page to `${PREFIX}/share/man/man1`, EXAMPLES helper uses `${FAKE_DESTDIR}${EXAMPLESDIR}`, pkg-message in UCL format with `mport install` - RUN_DEPENDS on lang/ghc (xmonad recompiles the user's config with GHC) - amd64/4.0.6: build/fake/package OK, no plist problems; `xmonad --version` → 0.18.1, `--help` works; links libX11/Xrandr/Xext/Xss/Xinerama - portlint: 0 fatal (warnings: absolute /usr/local paths in pkg-message text, inherited) - Not tested: running under X, `xmonad --recompile`. The example `build` …
