Description

Xscreensaver will run several programs to continuously update the screen instead of going blank. You can specify the programs and their arguments using resources. You can also add dpms (power saver) options.

Xscreensaver will make use of any installed OpenGL libraries, such as Mesa (also in the ports collection).

The client-server model employed by xscreensaver make it a superior choice to xlock, since no separate auto-locking program is needed. It's also extremely easy to add new programs like xearth, or any other program that can fill the root window as additional screensavers.

x11/xscreensaver: update to 6.17 (#1826)

Update xscreensaver from 6.15 to 6.17. Upstream changelog: https://www.jwz.org/xscreensaver/changelog.html ## Changes - **autoreconf**: added, as FreeBSD did for 6.16 (d130642226bc), because the configure script shipped upstream is broken. autoreconf runs intltoolize itself, so the `pre-configure-NLS-on` step is gone. - **gettext**: `gettext-runtime` is now always a dependency, since libintl is needed even with NLS off. `gettext-tools` is added for autoreconf. - **New `files/patch-hacks_Makefile.in`, plus a hunk in `patch-hacks_glx_Makefile.in`**: 6.17 adds gettext calls to `screenhack.c`, but the hack makefiles never link `@INTLLIBS@`. That goes unnoticed on glibc. On MidnightBSD every hack failed to link with undefined `libintl_*` symbols. The fix appends `@INTLLIBS@` to `HACK_POST`. …

*: bump PORTREVISION for the textproc/libxml2 2.15 shared library change (#848)

`textproc/libxml2` 2.15 changed SONAME from `libxml2.so.2` to `libxml2.so.16` **and** removed ELF symbol versioning entirely — the new library defines no `LIBXML2_*` versions at all. Consumers built against the old library were never rebuilt, so they still record a dependency on `libxml2.so.2` plus version requirements nothing can satisfy, and fail at load time: ``` ld-elf.so.1: /usr/local/lib/libxml2.so.2: version LIBXML2_2.4.30 required by /usr/local/lib/libevdocument3.so.4 not defined ``` ### Scope `Tools/scripts/bump_revision.pl -f -l textproc/libxml2` — **436 Makefiles**: 323 revisions incremented, 113 gained a `PORTREVISION` line.
