Description

Measurement Kit is a C++14 library that implements open network measurement methodologies (performance, censorship, etc.) on Unix-like operating systems such as Android, iOS, Linux, and macOS.

It is meant to be embedded by third party applications with specific network measurement needs and/or to be used by researchers to implement novel network measurement tools. It started as a common engine to implement the mobile versions of OONI and Neubot, and since then has grown to include also the implementation of Portolan traceroute and NDT tests.

Install

Binary package:

pkg install measurement-kit

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/net/measurement-kit/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	measurement-kit>0:net/measurement-kit

Message after installing

If you need Measurement-Kit to query for GeoIP data, please consider installing
'net/geoipupdate' and updating your local databases:

  # pkg install net/geoipupdate
  # geoipupdate

Once you are done, Measurement-Kit can properly show country codes - but you
still must change your nettest options and specify the database file to be
used by 'geoip_country_path'.

Consider creating a cron job in order to keep your databases up to date.
