Description

Socket is a low-level module used by, among other things, the IO::Socket family of modules. The following examples demonstrate some low-level uses but a practical program would likely use the higher-level API provided by IO::Socket or similar instead.

Install

As a binary package — by origin, or by package name:

pkg install net/p5-Socket
pkg install p5-Socket

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/net/p5-Socket/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	p5-Socket>0:net/p5-Socket

Packages

The version each package repository carries. “-” means the repository builds no package of it, “n/a” that there is no such repository.
