Description

ldap0 provides an object-oriented API to access LDAP directory servers from Python programs. Mainly it wraps the OpenLDAP 2.x libs for that purpose.

Additionally the package contains Python modules:

parsing and producing LDIF
handle LDAPURLs
parse and handle LDAPv3 subschema
LDAPv3 extended operations and controls
automatic tests with OpenLDAP server This package is a non-compatible for of python-ldap and therefore uses the separate module name-space 'ldap0'.

Install

As a binary package — by origin, or by package name:

pkg install net/py-ldap0
pkg install py312-ldap0

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/net/py-ldap0/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	py312-ldap0>0:net/py-ldap0

2026-09-24	`34f95b5aad`	Xin LI	*databases/openldap: move from net/** Move all OpenLDAP ports (openldap25-client, openldap25-server, openldap26-client, openldap26-server) from net/ to databases/ to be consistent with OpenLDAP 2.7 which was already in databases/. Bump PORTREVISION for all moved ports. Simplify Mk/Uses/ldap.mk now that all OpenLDAP versions live under databases/.

Move all OpenLDAP ports (openldap25-client, openldap25-server, openldap26-client, openldap26-server) from net/ to databases/ to be consistent with OpenLDAP 2.7 which was already in databases/.
