Description

Getting network addresses from Python

It's been irritating me for ages that it isn't possible to straightforwardly get the network address(es) of the machine you're running on from a Python program.

In the other systems

SystemPortVersion

OpenBSDnet/py-netifaces0.11.0p6
NetBSDnet/py-netifaces0.11.0nb2

Install

Binary package:

pkg install py312-netifaces

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/net/py-netifaces/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	py312-netifaces>0:net/py-netifaces
