Description

GNU hypertext utilities to view and manipulate info documentation files.

The GNU project has a hypertext system called Info which allows the same source file to be either printed as a paper manual, or viewed using info. It is possible to use the info program from inside Emacs, or to use the stand- alone version described here.

This package can convert info to pdf, if pdftex (print/tex-pdftex) and pdflatex (print/tex-latex-bin) are installed. However, it does not depend on them.

Install

Binary package:

pkgin install gtexinfo

From pkgsrc:

cd /usr/pkgsrc/devel/gtexinfo && make install clean

Packages

The version each package repository carries. “-” means the repository builds no package of it, “n/a” that there is no such repository.

73e3b92462 tnn gtexinfo: override the iconv test on macOS
Upstream configure (via gnulib) has started to reject the native Apple libiconv because it has bugs related to character transliteration. This leads to PLIST errors. See for rationale: https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-gnulib/2024-05/msg00375.html The correct fix is probably to do: .if ${OPSYS} == "Darwin" USE_GNU_ICONV= yes .endif But this would introduce a new dependency on converters/libiconv. I'll leave it to someone more familiar with the implications to decide. This commit leaves the broken status quo and is in line with other pkgsrc packages that have the same workaround, such as devel/gettext and textproc/libunistring.

7.3 (02 March 2026) * Language . new commands for title page creation: @documentinfo, @publication, and @maketitle. you can use these instead of explicit formatting inside @titlepage. . you can use heading commands such as @heading after @node. nodes defined this way are not part of the chapter structure of the document (unlike if @section etc. were used). . new command @xrefname can follow @node in place of a heading command. this is for when you do not want any heading at all to be displayed. . new command @namedanchor for defining text to be used for a cross- reference to an anchor (with @xrefautomaticsectiontitle on) . new command @thispart to print part name in headings or footings . deprecate @clickstyle …
