Description

Windows Remote Management (WinRM) for Ruby

This is a SOAP library that uses the functionality in Windows Remote Management(WinRM) to call native object in Windows. This includes, but is not limited to, running batch scripts, powershell scripts and fetching WMI variables. For more information on WinRM, please visit Microsoft's WinRM site (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa384426.aspx).

As of version 2.0, this gem retains the WinRM name but all powershell calls use the more modern Powershell Remoting Protocol (PSRP) (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd357801.aspx) for initializing runspace pools as well as creating and processing powershell pipelines.

ba1246bdb8 taca net/ruby-winrm: update to 2.4.1
pkgsrc change: * Remove dependency to ruby-logging since this package dose not require it but ruby-logger default gem. 2.4.1 (2026-09-15) * Fix SOAP fault handling for REXML 3.4.4 nodeset changes (#362) * Validate realm and service options for the Kerberos transport (#363)
4bf0da2983 taca net/ruby-winrm: udpate to 2.4.0
2.4.0 (2026-09-10) What changed * Fix WinRM shell finalizer for Ruby 3.1+ by safely handling ThreadError (#354) * Rename object_id to message_id (#352) * Replace the unmaintained logging gem with the Ruby standard library Logger (#358, by @fwininger). Connection#logger is now a stdlib Logger subclass: the standard API is unchanged, and the one logging-specific call (add_appenders) still works but logs a deprecation warning (#360) * Modernize build chain (#357, by @fwininger) * CI modernization, README fixes Upgrade notes If you were calling logging-gem-specific methods (e.g. add_appenders) on conn.logger, you will now see a deprecation warning. Configure the stdlib logger directly or inject your own via conn.logger= instead.
