Description

A markdown navigator with tree-based structural navigation. Like tree, but interactive-navigate markdown documents using an expandable/collapsible heading tree with a synchronized content view.

treemd is a modern markdown viewer that combines the structural clarity of the tree command with powerful interactive navigation. Whether you're exploring large documentation files, analyzing markdown structure, or just reading comfortably in your terminal, treemd provides both CLI tools for scripting and a beautiful TUI for interactive exploration.

[0.10.0] - 2026-10-18 The TUI is redesigned: seventeen themes held to WCAG contrast, nine of them new and three light, a footer that shows the keys for whatever is open, a mouse that works on the pane under it, and a no-color mode for NO_COLOR. The query language now behaves like jq: query errors exit 3 or 5, arithmetic follows jq's rules, --query-output json always prints an array, and more. Scripts that use -q should check the Changed section before upgrading. Fixed Tables take their natural widths. A column was sized at 70% of its average cell and 30% of its widest, so Previous wrapped in a column beside Next with the pane half empty. A cell holding inline code also lost the space every other cell has and sat against the border …

(leaf pkg) [0.9.1] - 2026-09-14 Fixed Images inside a list item are drawn. - item ![a](a.png) rendered the text and nothing else, and the image was not selectable. The list renderer drops images from its inline run on the grounds that they are drawn separately, which was true while the parser hoisted a list item's image out to a top-level block; since 2.0.0 it correctly keeps the image in the item, so nothing picked it up. The item now reserves the same placeholder rows a paragraph does, registers the image in the element index, and the existing image pass draws into them (#87) …
ba56c57874 pin textproc/treemd: update to 0.8.2
(leaf package) [0.8.2] - 2026-09-13 Fixed A list nested inside a blockquote or a <details> no longer mispositions what follows it. Its height was measured as one row per item, ignoring both the extra lines a nested item adds to an item's content and the nested blocks the renderer draws underneath it. 1. step holding a fenced block draws four rows and was counted as one, so selecting anything below the list scrolled to the wrong offset, and the error accumulated down the document. A top-level list was already measured correctly by index_elements, which is why this only showed up nested (#88) Internal …
6c1dfa3489 pin textproc/treemd: update to 0.8.1
[0.8.1] - 2026-09-12 No behaviour changes. Documents a regression found after 0.8.0 shipped, and adds the test that would have caught it. Documentation A fenced block that follows a list inside a blockquote is dropped, and its text is merged into the quote's content. Found by building 0.7.0 and 0.8.0 and comparing their output across 82 documents, which is the only content-level regression in that upgrade. The failure is worse than a gap, because the text resurfaces as another block's content: on ratatui's changelog, .code loses five real blocks and gains three holding prose. A paragraph between the list and the fence avoids it. Tracked at turbovault#71 and recorded in the query guide Internal …
