Description

InterNetNews is a complete Usenet system. The cornerstone of the package is innd, an NNTP server that multiplexes all I/O. Newsreading is handled by a separate server, nnrpd, that is spawned for each client. Both innd and nnrpd have some slight variances from the NNTP protocol.

Install

Binary package:

pkg install inn

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/news/inn/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

ovsqlite-util needs DBI with the DBD::SQLite driver. Declare it under the SQLITE option so the utility works out of the box.

databases/db5 is EOL. Depend on databases/db18 instead and document the in-place ovdb_init -u upgrade for ovdb overview users. PR: 279151
