Description

7-Zip is a file archiver with a high compression ratio.

The main features of 7-Zip are:

High compression ratio in 7z format with LZMA and LZMA2 compression
Multiple supported formats (7z, XZ, BZIP2, GZIP, TAR, ZIP, WIM, etc.)
Strong AES-256 encryption in 7z and ZIP formats

RAR decompression is in a subpackage, 7zip-rar, because of its license.

Install

Binary package:

pkg_add 7zip

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/archivers/7zip && make install

Import 7zip 26.03 to replace p7zip, ok sthen@

Josh Grosse <josh () jggimi ! net> ported 7zip 22.01 to OpenBSD back in September 2022. <ed () groovyexpress ! com> ported 7zip 26.03 and added 7za and 7zr. I added a 7z.1 man page. I added a subpackage 7zip-rar, like Debian's. ed, sthen, and I added some patches.
