Description
pkg_replace is used to upgrade installed packages. It is compatible with portupgrade and can be used as an alternative to portupgrade and portmaster.
Install
Binary package:
pkg install pkg_replaceFrom the ports tree:
cd /usr/ports/ports-mgmt/pkg_replace/ && make install cleanTo depend on this port in another port's Makefile:
RUN_DEPENDS= pkg_replace>0:ports-mgmt/pkg_replacePackages
The version each package repository carries. “-” means the repository builds no package of it, “n/a” that there is no such repository.

Message after installing
pkg_replace options changed. For more information, refer to pkg_replace(1). You can use various features. -IGNORE, USE_PKGS -BEFOREBUILD, AFTERBUILD, BEFOREINSTALL, AFTERINSTALL -User defined functions See examples in /usr/local/etc/pkg_replace/pkg_replace.conf.sample. If you want to use those features, edit "/usr/local/etc/pkg_replace/pkg_replace.conf". To clean cache files in the PKG_REPLACE_DB_DIR, you should execute the following command. pkg_replace --cleandb To really remove the pkg_replace port, please remove the the PKG_REPLACE_DB_DIR. Default: PKG_REPLACE_DB_DIR=/var/db/pkg_replace
