Description
File tests each argument in an attempt to classify it. There are three sets of tests, performed in the following order:
- filesystem tests
- magic number tests
- language tests
The first test that succeeds causes the file type to be printed.

Install
Binary package:
pkg install fileFrom the ports tree:
cd /usr/ports/sysutils/file/ && make install cleanTo depend on this port in another port's Makefile:
RUN_DEPENDS= file>0:sysutils/file
LIB_DEPENDS= libmagic.so:sysutils/filePackages
The version each package repository carries. “-” means the repository builds no package of it, “n/a” that there is no such repository.
