Description

EmeraldTree is a fork of ElementTree - the main differences are:

  • It has a slightly different API for handling of text: it uses unicode objects as children (not as "tail" attributes of the elements)
  • API cleanups, removing backward compatibility
  • Better unicode support
  • PolyglotWriter (for writing html5 that is also well-formed xml)
  • Other improvements / optimizations

Install

As a binary package — by origin, or by package name:

pkg install textproc/py-emeraldtree
pkg install py312-emeraldtree

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/textproc/py-emeraldtree/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	py312-emeraldtree>0:textproc/py-emeraldtree
