mutt -- Heap out-of-bounds write via crafted Content-Header line

· CVE-2026-107570 · VuXML entry

Kevin J. McCarthy reports: Fixing an OOB heap write. This is triggered by a specially crafted Content-Header line in an email that is used as a template for a new email, via <resend-message >. Thanks to Calif.io, in collaboration with Anthropic for sending me a detailed write up and suggested patch.

Affected versions

By system

1 still vulnerable, 1 fixed. Where VuXML applies (FreeBSD, DragonFly, FreeBSD's derivatives) a port is vulnerable while its version is in a range; pkgsrc says itself whether it lists a CVE of this advisory; OpenBSD and MidnightBSD keep no list this site reads, so their row is only an estimate: FreeBSD's ranges applied to upstream's version.
