MongoDB -- crash due to improper validation of explain command
[email protected] reports: When run on commands with certain arguments set, explain may fail to validate these arguments before using them. This can lead to crashes in router servers. This affects MongoDB Server v5.0 prior to 5.0.31, MongoDB Server v6.0 prior to 6.0.20, MongoDB Server v7.0 prior to 7.0.16 and MongoDB Server v8.0 prior to 8.0.4
Affected versions
- mongodb50 < 5.0.31
- mongodb60 < 6.0.20
- mongodb70 < 7.0.16
- mongodb80 < 8.0.4
By system
0 still vulnerable, 2 fixed. Where VuXML applies (FreeBSD, DragonFly, FreeBSD's derivatives) a port is vulnerable while its version is in a range; pkgsrc says itself whether it lists a CVE of this advisory; OpenBSD and MidnightBSD keep no list this site reads, so their row is only an estimate: FreeBSD's ranges applied to upstream's version.
| System | Port | Version | State | Fixed |

| FreeBSD | databases/mongodb70 | 7.0.45 | fixed | (484 days after) |
| MidnightBSD | databases/mongodb70 | 7.0.21_1 | out of range, by version | |
| FreeBSD | databases/mongodb80 | 8.0.34 | fixed | (547 days after) |
| MidnightBSD | databases/mongodb80 | 8.0.12_1 | out of range, by version |
