Mozilla -- XSS in sites without content-type header

· CVE-2025-11712 · VuXML entry

[email protected] reports: A malicious page could have used the type attribute of an OBJECT tag to override the default browser behavior when encountering a web resource served without a content-type. This could have contributed to an XSS on a site that unsafely serves files without a content-type header.

Affected versions

By system

2 still vulnerable, 4 fixed. Where VuXML applies (FreeBSD, DragonFly, FreeBSD's derivatives) a port is vulnerable while its version is in a range; pkgsrc says itself whether it lists a CVE of this advisory; OpenBSD and MidnightBSD keep no list this site reads, so their row is only an estimate: FreeBSD's ranges applied to upstream's version.
