traefik -- TCP readTimeout bypass via STARTTLS on Postgres
· CVE-2026-25949 · VuXML entry
The traefik project reports: There is a potential vulnerability in Traefik managing STARTTLS requests. An unauthenticated client can bypass Traefik entrypoint respondingTimeouts.readTimeout by sending the 8-byte Postgres SSLRequest (STARTTLS) prelude and then stalling, causing connections to remain open indefinitely, leading to a denial of service
Affected versions
- traefik < 3.6.8
By system
1 still vulnerable, 1 fixed. Where VuXML applies (FreeBSD, DragonFly, FreeBSD's derivatives) a port is vulnerable while its version is in a range; pkgsrc says itself whether it lists a CVE of this advisory; OpenBSD and MidnightBSD keep no list this site reads, so their row is only an estimate: FreeBSD's ranges applied to upstream's version.
| System | Port | Version | State | Fixed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DragonFly | net/traefik | 3.4.1 | vulnerable since 2026-02-14 | |
| FreeBSD | net/traefik | 3.7.16 | fixed | (140 days after) |
