MongoDB -- Pre-Authentication Denial of Service Vulnerability in MongoDB Server's OIDC Authentication
NVD reports: The MongoDB Server is susceptible to a denial of service vulnerability due to improper handling of specific date values in JSON input when using OIDC authentication. This can be reproduced using the mongo shell to send a malicious JSON payload leading to an invariant failure and server crash.
Affected versions
- mongodb60 < 6.0.21
- mongodb70 < 7.0.17
- mongodb80 < 8.0.5
By system
0 still vulnerable, 2 fixed. Where VuXML applies (FreeBSD, DragonFly, FreeBSD's derivatives) a port is vulnerable while its version is in a range; pkgsrc says itself whether it lists a CVE of this advisory; OpenBSD and MidnightBSD keep no list this site reads, so their row is only an estimate: FreeBSD's ranges applied to upstream's version.
| System | Port | Version | State | Fixed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FreeBSD | databases/mongodb70 | 7.0.45 | fixed | (400 days after) |
| MidnightBSD | databases/mongodb70 | 7.0.21_1 | out of range, by version | |
| FreeBSD | databases/mongodb80 | 8.0.34 | fixed | (463 days after) |
| MidnightBSD | databases/mongodb80 | 8.0.12_1 | out of range, by version |
