tnef -- An attacker may be able to write to the victim's .ssh/authorized_keys file via an e-mail message
· CVE-2019-18849 · VuXML entry
[email protected] reports: In tnef before 1.4.18, an attacker may be able to write to the victim's .ssh/authorized_keys file via an e-mail message with a crafted winmail.dat application/ms-tnef attachment, because of a heap-based buffer over-read involving strdup.
Affected versions
- tnef < 1.4.18
By system
0 still vulnerable, 2 fixed. Where VuXML applies (FreeBSD, DragonFly, FreeBSD's derivatives) a port is vulnerable while its version is in a range; pkgsrc says itself whether it lists a CVE of this advisory; OpenBSD and MidnightBSD keep no list this site reads, so their row is only an estimate: FreeBSD's ranges applied to upstream's version.
| System | Port | Version | State | Fixed |

| NetBSD | mail/tnef | 1.4.18 | not listed | |
