privatebin - Missing HTML sanitisation of attached filename in file size hint enabling persistent XSS
· CVE-2025-62796 · VuXML entry
PrivateBin reports: We've identified an HTML injection/XSS vulnerability in the PrivateBin service that allows the injection of arbitrary HTML markup via the attached filename.
Affected versions
- privatebin < 2.0.2
By system
1 still vulnerable, 1 fixed. Where VuXML applies (FreeBSD, DragonFly, FreeBSD's derivatives) a port is vulnerable while its version is in a range; pkgsrc says itself whether it lists a CVE of this advisory; OpenBSD and MidnightBSD keep no list this site reads, so their row is only an estimate: FreeBSD's ranges applied to upstream's version.
| System | Port | Version | State | Fixed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DragonFly | www/privatebin | 1.7.6 | vulnerable since 2025-10-28 | |
| FreeBSD | www/privatebin | 2.1.0 | fixed | (257 days after) |
