· CVE-2018-15863, CVE-2018-15859, CVE-2018-15861, CVE-2018-15863 · VuXML entry
X.Org reports: Multiple issues have been found in xkbcomp that have been previously been published as CVEs in libxbkcommon. libxkbcommon is (to some degree) a fork of xkbcomp and some of the code base is identical. These CVEs were published earlier as: CVE-2018-15853: Endless recursion in xkbcomp/expr.c resulting in a crash CVE-2018-15859: NULL pointer dereference when parsing invalid atoms in ExprResolveLhs …
Affected versions
- xkbcomp < 1.5.0
By system
1 still vulnerable, 1 fixed. Where VuXML applies (FreeBSD, DragonFly, FreeBSD's derivatives) a port is vulnerable while its version is in a range; pkgsrc says itself whether it lists a CVE of this advisory; OpenBSD and MidnightBSD keep no list this site reads, so their row is only an estimate: FreeBSD's ranges applied to upstream's version.
| System | Port | Version | State | Fixed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DragonFly | x11/xkbcomp | 1.4.7 | vulnerable since 2025-12-05 | |
| NetBSD | x11/xkbcomp | 1.5.0 | not listed | |
| MidnightBSD | x11/xkbcomp | 1.5.0 | out of range, by version | |
| FreeBSD | x11/xkbcomp | 1.5.0 | fixed |
