Expat 2.8.2 was released yesterday. The key motivation for cutting a release and doing so now was getting security and non-security bugsfixes out to users. On the security side, 13 vulnerabilities have been fixed: CVE-2026-50219: missing control flow integrity checks CVE-2026-56131: missing control flow integrity checks CVE-2026-56132: out-of-bounds write CVE-2026-56403: integer overflow CVE-2026-56404: integer …

3 still vulnerable, 1 fixed. Where VuXML applies (FreeBSD, DragonFly, FreeBSD's derivatives) a port is vulnerable while its version is in a range; pkgsrc says itself whether it lists a CVE of this advisory; OpenBSD and MidnightBSD keep no list this site reads, so their row is only an estimate: FreeBSD's ranges applied to upstream's version.
