zeek -- potential DoS vulnerability
Tim Wojtulewicz of Corelight reports: Large QUIC packets can cause Zeek to overflow memory and potentially crash. Due to the possibility of receiving these packets from remote hosts, this is a DoS risk.
Affected versions
- zeek < 7.0.5
By system
0 still vulnerable, 1 fixed. Where VuXML applies (FreeBSD, DragonFly, FreeBSD's derivatives) a port is vulnerable while its version is in a range; pkgsrc says itself whether it lists a CVE of this advisory; OpenBSD and MidnightBSD keep no list this site reads, so their row is only an estimate: FreeBSD's ranges applied to upstream's version.
| System | Port | Version | State | Fixed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FreeBSD | security/zeek | 9.0.0 | fixed | (567 days after) |
| OpenBSD | net/bro | 8.2.2p0 | out of range, by version | |
| NetBSD | wip/zeek | 4.0.4 | not listed |
