Apache HttpClient -- misinterpret malformed authority component
· CVE-2020-13956 · VuXML entry
Apache Software Foundation reports: Apache HttpClient versions prior to version 4.5.13 and 5.0.3 can misinterpret malformed authority component in request URIs passed to the library as java.net.URI object and pick the wrong target host for request execution.
Affected versions
- apache-commons-httpclient, jakarta-commons-httpclient >= 3.1
- httpclient < 4.5.13; >= 5.0.0 < 5.0.3
By system
4 still vulnerable, 0 fixed. Where VuXML applies (FreeBSD, DragonFly, FreeBSD's derivatives) a port is vulnerable while its version is in a range; pkgsrc says itself whether it lists a CVE of this advisory; OpenBSD and MidnightBSD keep no list this site reads, so their row is only an estimate: FreeBSD's ranges applied to upstream's version.
