Description

BpmfZihiKaiStd is a Bopomofo IVS build of the Zihi Kai Std standard kai typeface: each Han character that has more than one Bopomofo reading carries Ideographic Variation Sequences and Private Use Area glyphs that render the character together with its reading.

Input methods that implement the Bopomofo IVS specification, such as chinese/fcitx5-mcbopomofo in its Bopomofo font annotation mode, use these fonts to produce Bopomofo-annotated text for teaching material and publishing.

The Han glyphs are licensed under CC-BY 4.0 and the remaining glyphs under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

Install

Binary package:

pkg install bpmf-zihikai

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/x11-fonts/bpmf-zihikai/ && make install clean

The Bopomofo IVS fonts render a Han character together with its Bopomofo reading, selected through Ideographic Variation Sequences and Private Use Area code points. chinese/fcitx5-mcbopomofo 3.0 and later can emit such text in its Bopomofo font annotation mode, which is aimed at educators and publishers who need Bopomofo-annotated material. The Han glyphs of this font are licensed under CC-BY 4.0 rather than the SIL Open Font License 1.1 that covers the rest of the family.
