Description

This is a collection of high quality and free to use TrueType fonts created by Monotype and Microsoft Typography. It consists of the following families:

  Times New Roman, Courier New, Georgia, Trebuchet MS, Comic
  Sans MS Arial, Arial Black, Verdana, Andale Mono, Impact,
  Calibri, Cambria, Consolas, Constantia, Corbel

They contain all 652 glyphs defined in WGL4 and are available in the following encodings:

  ISO 8859-1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 15
  KOI8-R and -RU

Tahoma can also be installed as an option, but a Windows License is required.

In the other systems

The newest version among them is 0.30, as upstream numbers it.

Install

Binary package:

x11-fonts/webfonts: Fix ClearType extraction with libarchive 3.8.9

Unpack ppviewer.cab to a file instead of piping it into a second bsdtar. libarchive 3.8.9 fails to skip entries of an LZX cabinet read from a stream and aborts with "LZX decompression failed (-25)", while the seekable path works on every version: https://github.com/libarchive/libarchive/issues/3542 The fix is already upstream but is in no release yet, and main, stable/15 and stable/14 all carry 3.8.9. Extracting eula.txt now happens in the same pass over the outer cabinet. While here, move NO_WRKSUBDIR where portclippy wants it. PR: 299148 Reported by: [email protected]

x11-fonts/webfonts: Use bsdtar for extraction

The distfiles are Microsoft self-extracting cabinets, which bsdtar reads directly, so archivers/cabextract is no longer needed and the port now builds without any dependencies. cabextract lowercased the extracted names with -L; the names inside the cabinets are mixed case, so lowercase them explicitly instead.
