Description

MariaDB is a database server that offers drop-in replacement functionality for MySQL. MariaDB is built by some of the original authors of MySQL, with assistance from the broader community of Free and open source software developers. In addition to the core functionality of MySQL, MariaDB offers a rich set of feature enhancements including alternate storage engines, server optimizations, and patches.

MariaDB is primarily driven by developers at Monty Program, a company founded by Michael "Monty" Widenius, the original author of MySQL, but this is not the whole story about MariaDB. On the "About MariaDB" page you will find more information about all participants in the MariaDB community, including storage engines XtraDB and PBXT.

## Changes - Update MariaDB 10.6 server and matching client source to 10.6.28. - Refresh the source checksum and remove three headers no longer installed by upstream. - Correct the existing DEPRECATED line spacing flagged by portlint. ## Validation - `bmake makesum` passed on the shared server source; `patch`, `build`, `fake`, `package`, and `check-license` passed for server and client. - `portlint -C`: 0 fatal errors, 13 existing warnings. - `git diff --check` passed. - Client library SONAME remains `libmariadb.so.3`. - `bmake test` has no test commands for these ports. - Build used `MAGUS=1`, `NO_DEPENDS=1`, and GSSAPI_NONE because the build host has MySQL 8.0 installed and ports OpenSSL conflicts with its saved base GSSAPI option. …

`textproc/libxml2` 2.15 changed SONAME from `libxml2.so.2` to `libxml2.so.16` **and** removed ELF symbol versioning entirely — the new library defines no `LIBXML2_*` versions at all. Consumers built against the old library were never rebuilt, so they still record a dependency on `libxml2.so.2` plus version requirements nothing can satisfy, and fail at load time: ``` ld-elf.so.1: /usr/local/lib/libxml2.so.2: version LIBXML2_2.4.30 required by /usr/local/lib/libevdocument3.so.4 not defined ``` ### Scope `Tools/scripts/bump_revision.pl -f -l textproc/libxml2` — **436 Makefiles**: 323 revisions incremented, 113 gained a `PORTREVISION` line.
