Description

This is the port for all stuff that comes in the contrib subtree of the postgresql distribution. This subtree contains porting tools, analysis utilities, and plug-in features that are not part of the core PostgreSQL system, mainly because they address a limited audience or are too experimental to be part of the main source tree. This does not preclude their usefulness.

Each subdirectory contains a README file with information about the module. Some directories supply new user-defined functions, operators, or types. After you have installed the files you need to register the new entities in the database system by running the commands in the supplied .sql file. For example,

    $ psql -d dbname -f module.sql

The .sql files are installed into /usr/local/share/postgresql/contrib

This software is part of the standard PostgreSQL distribution.

Install

Binary package:

mport install postgresql

From mports:

cd /usr/mports/databases/postgresql16-contrib && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

Fix Magus run 648 failure for port ID 2261575. Create the extension documentation directory and install README through the fake-adjusted prefix. Validation: patch, build, fake, and package completed with _PGSQL_VER=16 and DISABLE_CONFLICTS=yes; git diff --check passed. `textproc/libxml2` 2.15 changed SONAME from `libxml2.so.2` to `libxml2.so.16` **and** removed ELF symbol versioning entirely — the new library defines no `LIBXML2_*` versions at all. Consumers built against the old library were never rebuilt, so they still record a dependency on `libxml2.so.2` plus version requirements nothing can satisfy, and fail at load time: ``` ld-elf.so.1: /usr/local/lib/libxml2.so.2: version LIBXML2_2.4.30 required by /usr/local/lib/libevdocument3.so.4 not defined ``` ### Scope `Tools/scripts/bump_revision.pl -f -l textproc/libxml2` — **436 Makefiles**: 323 revisions incremented, 113 gained a `PORTREVISION` line.
